I’m running out of space on my laptop, and I’m trying to organize and remove all the junk, and I stumbled upon this little diddy that I wrote last year….at 4 AM. Wow, what was I doing at that time? Apparently, not sleeping.
The Man Who Resembles Me
I waited patiently until the moment,
he brings me ice cream and smiles.
The ice cream melts in my mouth.
His smile warms my heart.
Blanket my soul with a safety net,
and ease my troubled mind.
I waited patiently until the moment,
when he appears at the door.
Only to see his back to me.
I ask him to stay; I silently plead.
He brushes my cheek and wishes me well,
and left me holding my broken heart.
I waited patiently until the moment,
where I only see him in my dreams,
Only then can I see his smile,
My dreams are shattered,
at the first hint of dawn,
When I can no longer see
the man who resembles me.
